Site Creators' Information Paul Dixon is a UK based photojournalist; central to his work are issues of environmental and humanitarian importance. Through his photo-reports he documents personal stories from the perspective of those affected. In recent years he has been highly commended in the prestigious Sunday Times Ian Parry Scholarship and the Observer Hodge Photographic Award. He was also a finalist in the Observer Food Monthly Seeds of Change Photographic Award. Paul has had solo and group exhibitions at several UK galleries, and has also exhibited at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. His work has been published in Asian Woman Magazine, British Journal of Photography, Ei8ht, Observer Food Monthly, UNCCD ‘Down to Earth’ magazine and in many NGO publications. Originally trained in Theatre Directing at Rose Bruford Drama College, he has written, produced and directed numerous plays both nationally and internationally. His work has been produced at a range of theatres and art house venues including the Grace Theatre, the Edinburgh Fringe, the Battersea Arts Centre and the ICA in London and the Chiang Mai Arts Centre, Thailand. He has produced and directed three documentary films. Seven Ages of Exile and The Promise both deal with the on-going conflict in Burma and were produced in association with human rights organisation Jubilee Action. Not Waving But Drowning is Peter’s third documentary and was produced through the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association. Peter has also written several articles, which have been published in Just Right magazine, Asian Woman and the Commonwealth Broadcaster. Peter is currently developing two new screenplays funded through the UK Film Council.
